Exodigo is the leading underground mapping solution for non-intrusive discovery. Our platforms combine multi-sensor fusion, 3D imaging, and AI technologies to create complete, accurate underground maps that enable confident decision-making for customers across the built world. We transform the project lifecycle for our customers, who include key community stakeholders in the utilities, transportation and government sectors.

We are experiencing sky-rocketing growth and closed a historically large $96M Series B round in July of 2025.

Job description

Senior Systems Engineer. Build the system. Break it. Understand it. Make it work.

Exodigo builds the world’s leading non-intrusive underground mapping platform — fusing RF, sensing, 3D imaging, and AI to map what’s beneath the surface for utilities, transportation, and government projects. Fresh off a $96M Series B, we’re scaling fast.

We’re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who thinks across disciplines — RF, hardware, software, sensing, algorithms, and mechanics — and isn’t afraid to get hands-on: build it, break it, measure it, fix it.

This is not a role focused only on requirements, interfaces, or project coordination. You’ll understand the complete system, connect the disciplines, and take complex technical problems from an ambiguous real-world need to a reliable, operational solution.

What You’ll Do

  • Own multidisciplinary systems from architecture through integration, validation, and field performance.
  • Turn real-world needs and operational use cases into measurable requirements and working solutions.
  • Define system architecture, data flows, and critical interfaces across RF, hardware, sensing, software, algorithms, and mechanics.
  • Get hands-on in the lab — build prototypes, design experiments, measure, characterize, debug, and validate.
  • Lead system bring-up and integration, connecting individual components into a complete end-to-end system.
  • Investigate complex behavior across disciplines and drive problems to root cause and resolution.
  • Make system-level decisions and trade-offs when information is incomplete and there is no obvious answer.
  • Lead technical discussions and design reviews with experienced engineers.
  • Turn insights from testing and field deployment into better system designs.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, integration, or a closely related hands-on engineering role.
  • Experience owning complex physical systems that combine multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Fluency across hardware, software, and mechanics, with meaningful hands-on experience working with RF technologies.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, data flows, interfaces, integration, and verification and validation.
  • Hands-on experience with system debugging, measurements, experiments, prototypes, and laboratory equipment.
  • The ability to translate technical designs into systems that operate reliably in real-world and field conditions.
  • A track record of driving multidisciplinary problems from ambiguous behavior to structured investigation, root cause, and resolution.
  • The technical maturity and communication skills to challenge assumptions, lead decisions, and earn the trust of experienced engineering teams.
  • A B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

You’ll Stand Out If You Also Have

  • Experience with RF sampling, timing, synchronization, localization, navigation, or GNSS.
  • Experience with radar, RF communications, electro-optics, autonomous systems, robotics, or other sensor-driven systems.
  • Embedded software, firmware, algorithms, or strong software experience.
  • Experience conducting field trials and debugging deployed systems.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or a fast-moving multidisciplinary R&D environment.

We’re looking for someone who can walk into a room with hardware, software, algorithms, and RF engineers, understand the different perspectives, and help the team reach a sound system-level decision.

Someone who can say:

“I think this is the problem — but let’s measure it.”

You’ll become one of the people the engineering team relies on when every component appears to work individually, but the system as a whole still doesn’t.
