Job description

The Director of Geotechnical Engineering (US) serves as the primary technical authority and strategic owner for the company’s geotechnical solutions in the United States. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who will own the "What" of our product delivery—ensuring that our technology translates into high-quality, compliant, and actionable engineering outcomes for our clients.

You will bridge the gap between complex geotechnical challenges in the field and our internal technology capabilities. Your mission is to ensure that every project delivered in the US meets the highest standards of the industry while supporting the scaling of our solutions across various infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the "Professional Engineer" persona for the company in the US. Oversee the technical integrity of project deliverables and ensure they meet client expectations and safety standards.
  • Define and enforce the engineering standards required for US infrastructure projects. Ensure all work aligns with DOT and ASCE regulations.
  • Act as the primary link between the market and the R&D team. Translate client needs and geotechnical complexities into detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to guide future technology development.
  • Partner with the sales and accounts teams during deep technical dives with major clients. Present the technical roadmap and demonstrate how our solutions solve specific geotechnical risks.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for US projects, ensuring that the implementation of our technology is consistent, scalable, and technically sound.
  • Identify opportunities to expand our technical footprint within the US market and provide technical guidance for entry into secondary markets (IL, EU/UK).

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of professional experience in Geotechnical Engineering, with a strong focus on US civil infrastructure (highways, bridges, foundations).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the US is a must
  • Deep knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, earth-retaining structures, and U.S. engineering codes/standards.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence cross-functional teams (Product, R&D, Sales).
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A "startup growth" mindset—comfortable with evolving roles and a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and client offices across the US as needed.

 Salary: $215,000 - $235,000
