Job description

The QC Team Lead is responsible for leading the Quality Control team responsible for validating the quality, accuracy, and engineering integrity of mapping deliverables produced by the company.

The role ensures that QC processes support the full map production workflow, maintain compliance with engineering standards and client requirements, and continuously improve data quality and operational efficiency across projects.

The QC Team Lead manages the QC engineers, oversees quality processes, defines quality metrics, and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Map Leads, Product Operations, ExoInfo, and Engineering to ensure reliable and scalable delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

QC Process Oversight:

  • Oversee the quality control process for mapping deliverables including 2D maps, 3D models, depth data, and engineering reports
  • Ensure deliverables meet internal quality standards, project SOWs, client specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Supervise validation of geometric accuracy, logical consistency, and alignment between layers and data sources
  • Ensure correct validation of depth assumptions, utility classifications, materials, and spatial relationships between infrastructures


Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the QC Civil Engineers team responsible for reviewing mapping deliverables
  • Provide professional and technical guidance to QC engineers
  • Manage workload distribution and ensure efficient execution of QC activities across projects
  • Support team development through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing


Quality Management & Continuous Improvement:

  • Define and maintain QC procedures, checklists, and SOPs
  • Identify recurring quality issues and implement improvements to production and QC workflows
  • Lead investigations of quality incidents, client comments, and technical issues
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across mapping and engineering teams


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Map Leads, Product Operations, ExoInfo, and Engineering teams to improve overall data quality
  • Support alignment between production teams and quality requirements
  • Provide professional input on mapping standards, engineering validation processes, and quality frameworks


Monitoring & Metrics:

  • Define and track quality KPIs and operational metrics for mapping deliverables
  • Monitor team performance and quality trends across projects
  • Maintain structured QC documentation and quality records for internal and external use


Process Improvement & Innovation:

  • Identify opportunities to optimize QC workflows and improve efficiency
  • Support implementation of new tools, methodologies, and automation in the QC process
  • Contribute to improving the overall mapping production pipeline

Requirements

  • B.Sc in Civil Engineering or equivalent academic background
  •  7+ years of experience in civil engineering, infrastructure projects, surveying, GIS, or quality control roles
  •  2+ years of experience in technical leadership or team management roles
  •  Experience working with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS
  •  Strong understanding of civil infrastructure, underground utilities, and engineering documentation
  •  Deep understanding of quality control methodologies and engineering validation processes
  •  Strong familiarity with utility systems and infrastructure mapping
  •  Ability to review and analyze CAD drawings and civil plans
  •  Understanding of geospatial data formats and coordinate systems
  •  High-level Hebrew and English (reading, writing, and presenting technical documents)


Advantages:

  • Experience as a Utility Engineer or Utility Coordinator
  •  Familiarity with US or European engineering standards and regulations
  •  Experience working in cross-functional or global teams
  •  Familiarity with ArcGIS, Civil3D, and Revit
  •  Experience in utility mapping or subsurface infrastructure projects
